HOME / CHATBOT FOR LAW FIRMS
For solicitors & law firms

The 9:47pm enquiry
still needs a reply.

A HyperChat assistant trained on your firm's website captures evening and weekend enquiries, qualifies the matter type and urgency, and puts a full transcript in your inbox — without ever giving legal advice.

THE SHORT ANSWER

HyperChat gives law firms an AI chatbot trained on their own website. It answers service, fee and process questions around the clock, qualifies intake by matter type, urgency and location, and emails every enquiry with a full transcript. It never gives legal advice, builds in about 60 seconds and costs £49 a month.

01 // The economics

Legal clients search
after dinner.

Divorce, conveyancing, probate, a dispute at work — people research solicitors in the evening, when the office is dark. The firm that answers first usually gets the instruction.

62%

of legal searches happen between 6pm and 10pm — after most firms' phones go to voicemail.

RANKMYFIRM LEGAL MARKETING RESEARCH, 2026

78%

of clients instruct the first firm that responds to their enquiry. Second place is a polite email a day later.

RANKMYFIRM LEGAL MARKETING RESEARCH, 2026

£750+

is a modest matter value — so a single recovered evening instruction pays for over a year of the bot.

02 // In the wild

Conveyancing intake,
9:47pm.

The bot answers from your fees page, explains your process, then completes your intake: matter type, parties for the conflict check, timescales, contact details. Your fee earners open a finished enquiry in the morning — not a voicemail.

Never legal adviceAnswers from your published content only. Asked for an opinion, it captures the matter for a solicitor instead.
Conflict-check detailsCollects the names of the parties involved, so your conflict check starts before the first call.
Full transcript, every timeEach enquiry arrives by email with the complete conversation — auditable by your COLP.

AI ASSISTANT · 21:47
Evening — we've just had an offer accepted on a house in Altrincham. What do you charge for conveyancing and how do we get started?
Congratulations! I'm the firm's AI assistant, so I can share our published fees rather than give advice. Our residential purchase fee is a fixed £895 plus VAT and disbursements, and we're on all major lender panels. To open your file, a conveyancing solicitor will need your details, the property address and the seller's solicitor — and we run a conflict check first. Can I take your name, number and the other party's name so the team rings you tomorrow?
Sarah Whitfield, 07700 900321. Sellers are the Dawsons. How long does it usually take?
Thank you, Sarah — that's logged as a residential purchase enquiry with your conflict-check details. Our site explains most purchases complete in 8–12 weeks; a solicitor will confirm the specifics for yours. Emma from the conveyancing team will call you tomorrow morning. You'll receive a copy of this conversation by email.

04 // Questions

Asked by practising solicitors.

Is a chatbot SRA compliant for solicitors?
Used as an intake and signposting tool, yes. It answers only from your own published content — services, fees, process. It does not give legal advice and does not create a solicitor-client relationship, and visitors are told up front they are chatting with an AI assistant, matching the SRA’s transparency expectations. Your compliance officer can review every conversation, because a full transcript of each one is emailed to your inbox.
Will the chatbot give legal advice?
No. It answers factual questions from your website — what conveyancing costs, how your probate process works, which documents to bring. Asked for an opinion, it says a solicitor will respond and takes the enquirer’s details instead.
Where is enquiry data stored, and is it GDPR compliant?
Data is hosted in UK/EU infrastructure (Railway Postgres). Lead capture uses visible consent wording with a privacy link, retention follows a documented public schedule, and the subprocessor register is published. You remain the data controller for your enquirers’ information.
How does intake qualification work?
You define the flow: matter type (conveyancing, family, probate, employment…), urgency, location, and conflict-check details such as the names of the parties involved. The enquiry that lands in your inbox reads like a completed intake form with a transcript attached — not a bare name and email.
What happens to enquiries that arrive at 9pm?
They get an instant, accurate answer and a captured enquiry instead of a closed office. According to RankMyFirm legal marketing research (2026), 62% of legal searches happen between 6pm and 10pm and 78% of clients instruct the first firm that responds — so the firm that answers at 9:47pm usually wins the matter.
Can it quote our fees?
Only what your website states. Publish fixed-fee conveyancing or a probate price guide and the bot quotes it accurately — which also supports the SRA’s price-transparency expectations. Bespoke matters are captured for your team to quote.
We already have an answering service. Why this?
Answering services take messages; HyperChat answers questions. A caller told “someone will ring you back” keeps searching. A visitor whose question is answered at 9:47pm, with fees quoted and intake completed, stops searching. It also costs less: £49 a month flat, no per-call charges.
How long does it take to set up for a law firm?
About 60 seconds to build from your existing website — practice areas, fees pages, FAQs and all. Going live is one line of code on your site. Building and previewing is free with no card, so the partners can judge it before the firm pays anything.
